After three big hits in Tamil with Dheena, Ramana and Ghajini, one super hit in Telugu titled Stalin, Murugadoss is busy making his Hindi debut. It is the remake of Ghajini and stars Aamir Khan and Asin. Like the original, this one’s release too has been delayed, but that has in no way dampened Murugadoss’ spirit.
The director is in absolute awe of the professionalism that Aamir displays on and off the sets. His punctuality and non-interference have impressed Murugadoss immensely. Given that Aamir’s directorial venture, Taare Zameen Par, met with all-round applause, one would think that he would throw his weight around and interfere with Murgadoss’ work. On the contrary, the star has given Murugadoss absolute freedom and has invested a great deal of faith in him. He is more than happy to work with an actor of such class and calibre.
Ask him why he retained Asin in the remake and he says that it’s been a long while since a Tamil actress has made it big in Bollywood. He believes that Asin has the potential to rock the Bollywood scene. Moreover, when the Bollywood team watched a couple of Asin’s movies, they were thoroughly impressed and delighted to have her in the movie!
The release of Taare Zameen Par and now its post-release work, is what is supposedly delaying the completion of Murugadoss’ movie. Nevertheless, the director is too happy with his hero, and does not mind!
