The director behind the blockbuster Ghajini, A.R. Murugadoss, was today taken away by the police under intriguing circumstances.
Murugadoss, whose biggest work till date is Suriya’s Ghajini, has also directed Dheena and Ramana with Ajith and Vijaykanth respectively. He has also directed Chiranjeevi in Tagore and Stalin in Telugu. Currently, the young director is busy directing Aamir Khan for the Hindi remake of Ghajini.
It is being reported that the director was “arrested” by the police based on a complaint filed by producer Salem Chandrasekhar who had produced Ghajini. The producer in his complaint is said to have stated that Murugadoss had not consulted him on the Hindi remake and he was also not paid his due share for remaking the film.
Police sources in Chennai confirm that the Salem police have arrested the budding director. However, it is the manner in which the arrest took place that has shocked Kollywood. The police, reportedly, had taken away the director as he was coming out of the house of writer Sujatha’s where he had gone to pay his respects to the late writer.
