Nenjathai Killadhe is from the workshop of director Agathian, who gave us the timeless saga Kaadhal Kottai. Agathian has deployed a different and novel pattern of film making and narration in the movie. Each scene raises a question and the answer for the same evolves elsewhere in the film. Bharathi, who shot to fame through her debut in Ammuvaagiya Naan, is the heroine and Vikranth is the hero. Prem Gi. Amaren's music for Nenjathai Killadhe has a contemporary feel to it. The lyrics of the songs reflect the nature and qualities of the characters along with suitable comments.
Sung by Sunitha Sarathy and Ranjit, 'Hello Hello Cell Phone Number' is a fast-paced song full of life. It is a good dance song, loaded with suitable instrumental additions and vocal support.
'Naaga Beeru Kudichchaa' is a happy chorus by Naveen, Suchithra and Prem Gi. Amaren. The song is a fitting example to Prem's style of composing, packed with peppy music.
'Naane Naana Naana' in Madhumitha's sweet voice is soothing and entertaining. The song has a uniform tempo and very mild accompaniments. There is also a touch of chorus that adds to its grace.
The lyrics of 'Oru Manasula Oru Manam Urasudhu' describe the pain and sorrow involved in love. Haricharan, Chinmayee and Cha Cha do justice to the number.
'Kaadhale Nee' sparkles in Vijay Yesudas' unique voice. Subtle yet beautiful touches shine all along the song.
'Neera Varattuma' is another song with brilliant lyrics. Mahathi and Prasanna's voice aptly suit the semi-classical melody.
'Nenjathai Killade' is the title song, rendered by Yugendran and Prasanthi. It is slow, yet a strikingly different rendition.
For Prem Gi. Amaren, Nenjathai Killadhe marks a good start as music director. Without any predominant influences, the songs bear proof to his unique and individual style.
