Vennila Kabadi Kuzhu features newcomers Vishnu, Kishore and Saranya Mohan in lead roles. Music director Selvaganesh is also apparently a newcomer in the realm of film music. In spite of this, all his compositions have a strong musical presence and listeners' focus in them.
'Lesa Parakuthu' is in Karthi and Chinmayi's voices. The song has all the necessary elements of a typical soft, romantic duet. Chinmayi and Karthik have just poured life and soul into the mellifluous number. Haricharan's solo 'Uyiril Edho' is filled with delicate nuances and intense emotions. The rustic number 'Kabbadi kabbadi' by Shankar Mahadevan too has a lively and touching perspective in its music and rhythm. Karthik does an admirable job in rendering the next solo 'Pada Pada'. The fiesty spirit and high energy level are the high points in 'Vandanam', a chorus by Malathy, Pandi and Vijay. Music director Selvaganesh's presentation strikes us as a fare that is thoroughly free of formula ingredients.
