The shooting for Nandhalala, the movie that marks the debut of Mysskin as an actor and protagonist of a film, begins today. The movie launch, a grand affair, was attended by Ilaiyaraja, Sarathkumar, Radikaa Sarathkumar, Dharani, Jayam Raja, Ponvannan, Perarasu, and Mysskin, who looks completely different after his weight loss.
This film has stoked up the curiosity of everyone not only for Mysskin’s debut as hero but also for its storyline. There are many versions of the story circulating in the Kollywood grapevine, but the real story stays elusive and Mysskin is tight-lipped about it. All he divulged about the story is that it is about a journey of a small boy and a man with a small boy’s heart (a mentally-retarded man) in which they learn so many things about the world. The film showcases the world through their point of view and how their lives are affected by this journey they undertake.
Mysskin made it clear that he was not interested in donning the role of a film hero, so this might well be his last film as a protagonist. He took up this role because he thought he would be able to play this role better since it is his brainchild and very close to his heart.
The film’s plus points are its story, Mysskin and its music, which is by Maestro Ilaiyaraja.
