Being an office-bearer in a star’s official fan association carries a lot of perks. Some of them are getting to meet the stars personface-to-face for various official reasons, accompanying them for functions and also holding the purse strings of the association itself in many cases.

Yesterday (August 15, 2008), a press note was circulated to all the media organizations stating that Secretary Gunaseelan, South Chennai administrator D. John and Nammakal district secretary A. Raju have been expelled from the Tamizhaga Kamal Haasan Narpani Iyakkam (Kamal Haasan Tamil Nadu Fans’ Association) and relieved of the posts held by them.

The press note signed by the President of the Narpani Iyakkam also clearly states that any one dealing with the persons mentioned in the press release did so at their own risk. The note gave no reason for the action, but it is expected that the real reason will be out in a few days.
