The Dhanush starrer Pollaadhavan has run into trouble from unexpected quarters. The film, which has received much critical acclaim, has given Dhanush a much-needed hit. However, an organization for the physically-challenged is protesting against the film for depicting them in poor light.
According to a release, the word ‘nondi’ (lame) is used in a demeaning way in the movie. Also, it implies in a scene that a person cannot have a blissful marital life with a physically-challenged person. This has hurt their sentiments.
While condemning the Censor Board for allowing such scenes, the organization’s secretary P. Simmachandiran has called for removal of these scenes and a public apology from the director Vetri Maran.
