Actor Vijay recently released the audio of Muniandi Vilangial Moondramandu, directed by Thirumurugan who gave the famous television soap Metti Oli and then the super hit film Emmagan. While speaking at this function, Vijay commented about the film’s heroine Poorna. He said that she resembled Asin slightly in looks and completely in expressions, and wished her the success that Asin has tasted in Kollywood.
The next morning, Poorna ended up receiving phone calls from various Kollywood producers, requesting her to be their film’s heroine. Vijay’s words are certainly packed with loads of star power. Even Poorna is yet to come out of the pleasant shock she had when her idol Vijay hailed her saying she could be the next Asin of Kollywood. She said she is a diehard fan of Vijay and had seen Pokkiri four times. She said she was unable to believe her ears when Vijay, her idol, spoke so sweetly about her.
Poorna, alias Shamna Kasim, is a well known name in the Malayalam film world. She has done three films with Mohan Lal. She starred as his foster-sister in her first film and she even acted as his heroine in their third film together.
At present, it looks like she will also leave a mark in Kollywood like her Malayalee predecessors Asin and Nayantara.
