Given the number of movies that his production house is making and the number of movies he is acting in, Prakashraj is one of the busiest stars today. But debutante director Anandh managed to impress him in just 10 minutes, with a mere synopsis of his story. And the actor readily signed on!
Anandh has been an associate to well known directors such as Parthiban, K Rajeshwar, Saba and has made quite a few ads and music albums. Anandh promises that his movies will be devoid of obscenity and violence and will be one that will be enjoyed by people of every age. The theme of Kanna revolves around a young girl who is trying to find herself. It talks about the father-daughter relationship and a father’s unconditional love for his daughter.
Telugu actor Raja and Sheela make the lead pair. As Sheela’s father we have Prakashraj. Seetha play’s his wife. Livingston who plays a teacher, has won great appreciation from the director. Ranjith, of VIP fame has composed the five songs in the movie that were penned by Pulamai Pithan, Palanibarathy, Muthu Vijayan and Anandh.
Anandh has not only directed the movie, but has also written the story, dialogue and has worked on the screenplay. Kosmic Film Entertainment Company [Pvt] Ltd has produced the movie. Cinematography is by Tajmal, editing by Edwin, art direction by Muthuraj, costumes designed by SB Sathesan and choreography by Ajayraj and Sujatha.
The movie was shot in 58 days in the picturesque locales of Ooty and Coimbatore, and will hit screens soon.
