A few days ago, a rumour circulated in Kodambakkam that National Awarding winning actress Priyamani had been signed on by Shankar for his big budget sci-fi flick, Robot, starring Superstar Rajinikanth and Aishwarya Rai.
But Priyamani denied such rumours, saying, “I did get a congratulatory telegram from Shankar sir, praising my performance in Paruthiveeran. It was good to receive his congratulations and I wish that this will lead to great work with him.”
And how does it feel to be starring opposite Vikram in Mani Ratnam’s film? “It’s unbelievable, I couldn’t believe it when he called and said he wanted to meet me!” In fact, she adds that the path-breaking director had appreciated her role as Muthazhagu in Paruthiveeran many times.
Priyamani is rising fast in the Telugu film industry with her hep, modern girl image, a far cry from her role as a village belle with absolutely no make-up.
