These days, producing one film is a hard task even for established production houses. But a debutant production house has recently launched two films at the same time with some of Kollywood’s biggies in its cast and crew.
Mumbai-based A.N.K.K. Movies launched two films, Indira Vizha and Anal Kaatru yesterday, with much pomp and grandeur. Indira Vizha has Srikanth as hero along with Namitha, Vivek, Malavika, Jagathy and Hema Malini in crucial roles. K. Rajeshwar, who has earlier given hits like Idhayathai Thamarai, Amaran, Seevallaperi Pandi, is the director.
Anal Kaatru, a film with Jayaram and Priyamani, is to be directed by ace director Balu Mahendra. The film was earlier titled Kodai Vidumurai. The veteran’s previous film was Adhu Oru Kanakaalam with Dhanush and Priyamani. Balu Mahendra’s regular composer maestro Ilayaraja scores music. The rest of the cast and crew will be announced later.
The movie launch of both films was held at the Film Chamber yesterday. Acclaimed Bollywood director Raj Kumar Santoshi was the special invitee.
Speaking during the function, Balu Mahendra said that he was hoping to start a film institute but the producer requested him to first direct a film under his banner. He expressed happiness at producers coming South to make films in Chennai.
