Anil Ambani’s Reliance Big Entertainment has announced a joint venture with Amitabh Bachchan in movies, live shows, TV and internet content. It expects creative inputs and appearances from Mr. Bachchan, and it will take care of the funding, marketing and distribution of the projects. The buzz is that the entire Bachchan family is a part of this collaboration.
About a month ago, RBE had announced deals with Hollywood actors Jim Carrey, Brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie and Nicholas Cage.
And there is a word doing rounds that RBE’s next target will be Kollywood. It has been mulling over this idea for a long time now. Its foray into Southern movie industry was in the form of Adlabs Films Ltd (Reliance owns 51% stakes in this company). Adlabs produced Kireedam which starred Ajith. It cannot be said if RBE will start right away with Kollywood.
