He’s the Super Star of Kollywood and has ruled unparalleled for years, rather decades. But nevertheless, Karnataka is the homeland of this Maharashtrian named Sivaji Rao Gaekwad, more popularly known as - Rajinikanth! The announcement about the hunger strike by Kollywood condemning the treatment of Tamilians and theatres screening Tamil movies in Karnataka over the Hogenakkal issue, had every one wondering what stand the Super Star would take. His arrival at the Chepauk grounds, where the strike is in progress, is statement enough.
Rajinikanth, who was at Hyderabad shooting for Kuselan, returned to Chennai as soon as the strike was announced. His presence amidst the gathering of the hundreds of Kollywood members must be quite reassuring. Given that Tamil cinema is what launched him into cine space, it is quite natural that he supports any issue pertaining to the wellbeing of the industry.
Others present at the venue are Sarathkumar, Radharavi, Vijay, Suriya, Dhanush, S.J. Suryah, Vishal, Prakasraj, Arjun and many others. More and more artistes are arriving at the venue as they return from the various cities and countries where they were shooting. This unity will indeed pay off!
