Mr. Ramanarayanan, acting president of the Tamil Film Producers’ Association, has declared that he will contest for the same position again. This was announced in the wake of the completion of his tenure. He announced that he is going to form a team with the existing secretaries and vice presidents and contest in the upcoming election upon requests from every quarter of Kollywood.
The team is named as Tamil Pada Thayarippalargal Munnetra Anee (Tamil Film Producers’ Improvement team). Ramanarayanan will contest for president; Anbalaya Prabhakar and Khaja Mohideen will contest for vice presidents; Sivasakthi Pandian and K. Srinivas will contest for secretarial posts; Muralitharan will contest for treasurer.
Ramanarayanan and his team have done a lot for the improving Tamil cinema and the welfare of all those involved in it. He and his team were very much instrumental in introducing a medical policy for producers, tax reduction for films, resolution of many conflicts and ease of friction between different factions of the film world, increase in salary for technicians, construction of a marriage hall and a new office building, pension for old and retired producers, and many more.
