The first photo shoot of Robot, director Shankar’s pet project starring ‘superstar‘ Rajinikanth, went without much fuss yesterday at the A/C floor in AVM Studios. In fact, it was a hush-hush affair sans any publicity.
As Rajinikanth got out of his Chevrolet Tavera, he was immediately whisked into the shoot floor, where photographer Venkat Ram was busy setting up his equipment for the shoot. Venkat has worked on the publicity stills of over 60 films. His credits include Aayudha Ezhuthu, Boys, Paruthiveeran, Sillunu Oru Kadhal, Bheema and Rajnikanth’s previous release Sivaji.
A number of stills were taken with the superstar trying out the dozen wigs exclusively brought in from the US by hair stylist Bhanu. It is learnt that Shankar has also roped in a consultant from Hollywood to take care of the 'look' of the film.
Director Shankar and producer 'Ayngaran' Karunamoorthy were also present during the shoot.
So, we can expect the first still from Robot by March after today’s shots are worked up to match the look of the film.
