Before Chennai 600028 he was known as S.P. Balasubramaniam’s son S.P.B. Charan. Now, after the film’s stupendous success and his entertaining role in Saroja, he is known as producer-actor Charan! Soon, a new status will be associated with his name – director.
Charan has declared that he would like to try his hand at directing very soon. At present, he is producing Kunguma Poovum Konjum Puravum, which stars newcomers and is expected to create ripples in Kollywood just like Chennai 600028 or Saroja did.
Charan says that he is not as interested in acting as he is in film direction or production. He clarified that he acted in Saroja only because he could not say no to his best friend Venkat Prabhu’s invitation to act and he wanted to have some fun with him and his other friends Premji Amaran and Mirchi Shiva. Venkat Prabhu and Charan have acted together in a couple of films years before Chennai 600028 made them very prominent.
It is exciting when we think about what Charan could present as a director!
