Gautam brought Sameera Reddy, who was then acting in Telugu films, to Kodambakkam to star in Varanam Ayiram. Sameera claims that Kakka kakka was also offered to her by Gautam.
Gautam liked her performance in Varanam Ayiram and selected Sameera for his next film too.
Neither Ajith or Sivaji Productions have opposed Gautam's choice.
