Confident. That is the word one has to use to describe the feeling that the entire team of Santosh Subramaniam had during the press meet held recently at the Green Park Hotel in Chennai. The entire unit seemed very much assured on the box office prospects of their film.
Santosh Subramaniam stars ‘Jayam’ Ravi and Genelia in the lead roles. Others in the cast include Prakashraj, Geetha, Santhanam, Sayaji Shinde, Prem Gi Amaran, Sathyan, Keerath, Sadagopan Ramesh, Kousalya, Vijayakumar, M.S. Bhaskar and Pushpavanam Kuppusamy.
Taking about the film, director Raja said that the film is a relationship drama between a strict father and his son. He said that the film is an entertainer for the whole family without any vulgarity or violence. The director, who has made 3 remakes so far, also clarified that contrary to popular belief, remaking a film is not an easy task.
The film’s hero, ‘Jayam’ Ravi, talked about the comfort level he shared with his brother on the sets. He said that he found it tough and challenging to emulate the performance by Siddharth in the Telugu version. Santhanam and Prem Gi Amaran spoke on the fun they had on the sets and thanked Raja for giving them wonderful roles.
Santosh Subramaniam is a remake of the Telugu blockbuster Bommarillu which had Siddharth and Genelia in the lead roles. The original version bagged 7 Nandi Awards. The Tamil version is set to hit the screens in April.
