The press meet of Sarathkumar starrer 1977 took place in a five star hotel. Dinesh Kumar, who directs the film, was also present at the meet, a very cordial and hospitable event. Sarathkumar impressed all the mediapersons with his hospitality, amicability and quick-witted speech. Sarathkumar is a gregarious and magnificent personality whose presence charges up one and all.
The actor and the director briefed the press about 1977, which is in its post-production stage. The film, starring Sarathkumar, Namitha and Farzana, is being made simultaneously in Tamil and Telugu. It is not about politics and does not even allude to the subject.
Both Sarathkumar and Dinesh agreed that the highlights of this film will be its stunts a la Hollywood style and its songs. The film has some breathtaking stunts; Sarathkumar and Namitha jump from a bridge onto a moving bus, which was very tough to shoot. Then there is a “shoot-out” scene involving Sarathkumar and 40 stunt artists a la Matrix.
Post-1977, Sarathkumar will act in three films: Jaggubhai (directed by K.S. Ravikumar), a yet-to-be-titled film directed by Venkatesh and a Kannada film.
The posters at the press meet suggested that Sarathkumar will give the lean six-pack generation a run for their money! The poster showing off his muscular body was eye popping, and could well be the next hot poster showing up in ladies' hostel rooms!
