If you’ve not watched the Hollywood flick Babel, then you must. And once you have, you will understand what Venkat Prabhu means when he says that his upcoming movie Saroja is inspired by Babel. Saroja has not borrowed the story of Babel, but is following its narrative style.
Babel narrates the story of five different people in five different situations. But as the movie draws to an end, something is found to connect these unconnected individuals. This is the style of narrative that Saroja proposes to follow. As for the story, fledgling director Venkat Prabhu says in one line that it’s about “One ordinary day when four ordinary men find themselves in an extraordinary situation!” The story spans across several cities, narrating events that take place in just one day.
The cast for the movie includes Prem G. Amaran, Siva, Vaibhav, Saran, Kajal Agarwal, Nikita, Vega, with Prakashraj and Jeyaram playing pivotal roles. The title role is played by Vega, who was born and brought up in Australia.
Produced by Amma Creations, Saroja is scheduled to release in June this year.
