Satyam is about a cop’s life, but it does not have the usual scenes depicting gory murders or extreme violence, which usually make such films inappropriate for some. Though Satyam revolves around a cop at loggerheads with corrupt politicians and contains marvellous actions sequences, it has not gone overboard, keeping in mind the variety of audiences coming to theatres. It aims at drawing all types of audiences of all age groups and does not focus on a niche audience of action lovers. The film, structured to attract young and old generations alike, should also serve as a bonanza to action film lovers. It reportedly does not compromise on action, but presents an action film without much gore.

Vishal has undergone a complete makeover for this film. He looks every bit a cop (he plays an Assistant Commissioner), capable of performing the stunts required. In fact, he has done many of his stunts without opting for a body double. There are brilliantly-filmed action sequences, including one filmed on ice. In this scene, Vishal fights on 200 slabs of ice (in an ice factory) and beats the hell out of criminals. Director Rajasekar said that this scene will be the highlight of the film and he explained the travails of shooting this scene. As the shooting extended throughout the day and all the ice would melt by evening, they had to bring in 200 new ice slabs every day until the sequence was completed! Not only this, it was extremely slippery, exposing the actors, stuntmen and choreographers to accidents and injuries.
Vishal’s physique (especially his 8-pack abdomen) is the talk of the town these days. Vishal is given the opening of a Hollywood hero in this film. In a series of images, he is shown to do his cooking, household chores, and building muscles (which he dispalys with elan!), just like Hollywood frontline action heroes. The film is nothing short of Hollywood quality, it is said.
For people who love comedy and one-liners, the film offers these too through Nayantara. According to director Rajasekar, she has performed so well in her role of a TV reporter that she will give Vadivelu a run for his money with the punch dialogues she delivers!
The film also has many children, who endear themselves to the audience through their mischief and antics. They live in Vishal's neighbourhood and are his dear friends in the plot. Their confrontation with Nayantara is rib-tickling.
And there is a lot of glamour (Nayantara is growing more beautiful every day!) but it is not sordid; so the film is viewable by every one in the family. So, it sure looks like Satyam is another big addition to the super hit cop films in Kollywood!
