Soft launches are a new concept for the Tamil film industry, even the simplest movies that’s launching new faces makes a lot of noise to grab all the attention they can get before the movie’s release.
Recently, a Telugu film by Mohana Indragranti starring Swati (Subramaniyam-fame), Ashta Chemma, was launched over the air waves to gain time while the song sequences were filmed. Of course, the CDs and cassettes were released on the market, but by then the music had already been declared a hit and this was just a formality.
Seval starring Bharat has followed the same soft launch for its music album. Director Hari has never hyped the audio launch of his previous movies. Having worked with almost all the well known directors like Harris Jayaraj, Yuvan, Vidyasagar and for Seval, Hari has come full circle working with whiz kid, G. V. Prakash.
Why does he not opt for an audio launch, even a simple one by Kollywood standards? Pat comes the reply, “because the audience knows what to expect!”
Well, the audio campaign gives us a taste of the music that Seval is dishing out- ‘Nattukozhi Kozhambu Vaasam Paatil Veesum’ (The smell of chicken stew will be in the song).
