Well, almost! And that too, for acting! Before you get all the wrong ideas, here’s what truly transpired!
The Thoondil crew was at England recently, shooting for a song in the lovely picturesque beaches of No Man’s Island. Director Adhiyaman says the name of the island is most apt. Why? Because, but for a handful of forest officers, there are no people on No Man’s Island – only sandy beaches and dense forests. After an eight-hour shoot of what promises to be an electric enticing number with Shaam and Divya Spandana, the crew returned to London.
Awed by Heathrow Airport, they decided to shoot a couple of scenes there with Shaam. The crew set up the camera and lights, Adhiyaman called “Action”, and the camera started rolling. A few minutes into the scene, the airport police arrived and called “Cut”. They questioned the crew about the shoot; Adhiyaman tried to explain, but his words fell on deaf ears. The cops decided to arrest Shaam. It was then that the director showed them the footage taken at the airport, which the cops demanded to be destroyed. It was quite a while before Shaam was let off and the crew returned to their hotel, thoroughly shaken!
When Divya was told what happened, she coolly said that if a pretty girl like herself had been in the scenes, there would never have been such a ruckus! Possible, but it always helps to get the Airport Authorities’ clearance before the shoot!
