Looks like Shriya is truly going global. After bagging the chance to work in an Ashok Amirtraj production, the pretty lass has now been signed up by none other than Deepa Mehta, who has given us pathbreaking films like Fire, 1947, Earth and Water.
Shriya is cast alongside model-turned-actress Lisa Ray and acting powerhouse Seema Biswas in the film, titled What’s Cooking. The film, a joint production venture of Deepa Mehta and B.R. Films, which gave us the epic soap opera Mahabarata, will be shot in New Delhi.
Shirya is obviously delighted to work with the director whose film, Water, was nominated for the Oscars last year. “I’m really thrilled on getting this offer. Deepa has a different style of filmmaking and it will be an altogether new experience for me,” the actress gushed in excitement.
Shriya is currently working on The Other End of the Line, her first Hollywood production where she is acting along with Hollywood heartthrob Jesse Metcalfe.
