Seema, the yesteryears famous actresses both in Tamil and Malayalam, is now acting in Kaalai. She plays the role of Simbu's mother for the first time. Hindi actresses Rekha, Shabana Azmi and Jayapratha were being considered for this role, but finally Seema was selected.
The shooting is shaping well at Theni now. Simbu and Vethika play the lead roles and Sangeetha also has a prominent role in Kaalai. Tharuingopi directs the movie produced by Nik Arts Chakravarthy. Soon Kaalai will hit the screens.
