Simran is one daring actress who quit movies and got married when she was at the peak of her career. Now, Simran is making waves on the small screen with her new serial, Simran Thirai.
Bringing powerful performances from Simran, Simran Thirai is based on a story-a-month concept. This serial will see Simran playing diverse roles every month. Each story runs exactly for a month, thereby bringing in crisp and compact entertainment, unlike never-ending mega serials.
Stories of popular writers feature in this unique project, produced by Pyramid Saimira Productions. In its inaugural month, the show featured Vannathupoochi, directed by yesteryear actress Sripriya and based on a story by the late write Sujatha.
This month, the show features Avanum Naanum, which tells how Viji, an orphan who marries a widower, survives the diverse emotions ranging from guilt, jealousy, possessiveness and scheming of the people around her and succeeds in sustaining her marriage.
The story is directed by National Award winning director Agathiyan and has Tarika, Durga, Fathima Babu, Revathy Shankaran along with Prem Nazir, who is cast opposite Simran. Cinematography is by Gopal. The title song has been penned by popular lyricist Vairamuthu and set to music by composer Ramesh Vinayagam.
The show is being considered a milestone in television and is being aired during weekdays at 8.30 p.m.
