Jiiva is one actor who has earned a unique place in the hearts of the public and the critics through his versatile performances. The actor is quite choosy about his roles, as can be seen from the variety of characters he has played so far. From the one-dimensional lover boy he portrayed in his debut Aasai Aasaiyaai, the young actor has matured into an incredible performer as is evident from his previous releases like Raam, Dishyum, E and Katradhu Thamizh.
We had earlier reported that Jiiva will play the lead role in a film to be produced by the Vikatan group. The popular magazine group was scouting for a new director and held a unique contest to find their director.
Now, they have found their man. The lucky director is Rajesh, who will be making his directorial debut. The film has been titled Siva Manasula Sakthi. A lot of thought seems to have gone into the title. The makers wanted a title that was instantly catchy. The current title was decided upon as it can referred to as SMS (did we say catchy?) when abbreviated.
It seems the director initially wanted to name the film as Siva Manasula Sandhya. However, since there is already a film under production with a similar title (Magesh, Sandhya Matrum Palar starring Sakthi and Sandya), it was decided to replace Sandhya with Sakthi. However, as an ironical twist, the other film has now been renamed Magesh, Saranya Matrum Palar.
