Mirugam received hype for all the wrong reasons. In retrospect, Mirugam Saami must be regretting the hullabaloo that preceded the movie’s release. The movie’s average opening must certainly have dampened Saami’s spirits, especially after his challenging speech that the ban on him will be lifted once the movie is out. But it looks like the man is relentless.
His recent protest against the censoring of a sequence in his movie, did not yield favourable results but passed off as yet another outburst by the angry young director. As for the lifting of the ban, that has not happened either. Saami however, is getting set to remake the movie in Telugu. How wise a move this is, we’ll have to wait and see. And following that, he has the story for his next movie ready – it will focus on sports. Will it be on the lines of Chennai 600028 or Chak De India? Lets hope it will not be in the lines of controversy!
