Subramaniyapuram (also spelt as Subramaniapuram) releases on July 4, 2008. The film’s audio is already a success. The film is set in the 80s and it will serve as a joyride for people who enjoyed their halcyon days in the 80s and also for fans of the disco and hippie cultures and Tamil films of the 80s.
This film is produced by Company Productions, which showed how professional it is when it deposited 70 film prints at the respective theatres in the city earlier than usual; normally production companies send the film prints to theatres on the evening before the release day. But Company Productions have been very helpful in sending the prints well in advance, making sure that theatre owners do not face any last-minute tension.
The film is about five young friends, whose lives are affected by a girl. The tale has been told in a very interesting manner. Though the film is set in the 80s, its theme surpasses time and it would appeal to anyone.
The film is written and directed by Sasikumar, who has also produced it. The film’s music is by TV anchor-turned-music director James Vasanthan. The lyrics are by Yugabharathi and Thamarai.
