Today was the launch of the festival celebrating the 75 years of Tamil Cinema in Singapore.
The entire Golden Village Theatre was transported through the 75 years with backdrops of the most famous name of the past 75 years – starting from Kalidas in 1931 till Sivaji in 2007.
The festival was inaugurated by Super Hero Sarath Kumar, President, South Indian Artistes Association in the presence of actor Vijay’s father and veteran director, Mr. S.A. Chandrasekar, President, Directors' Union (TANTIS), producer, Mr. K.S. Srinivasan, Secretary, Producers' Council, Ms. Sripriya, actress and committee member South Indian Artistes' Association, Mrs. Radikaa Sarath Kumar, Chairperson, Radaan Mediaworks, Mr. C.R. Venkatesh, CEO, Galatta.com, Mr. Girish Ramdas, President, Galatta.com, Mr. K. Ramesh, President, Galatta Global Events.
Mr. Sarath Kumar, on behalf of the Nadigar Sangam, promised to support the entire event and encouraged the organizers to make this a truly worldwide festival.
Mr. S.A. Chandrasekar, on behalf of the Director’s Union, also promised to support the event and also said that his son Vijay promised to attend the show in Singapore in October.
Mr. Srinivasan, on behalf of the Producers Council’s President, Mr. Rama Narayanan said that all producers will cooperate in the event.
The inaugural was followed by the screening of the evergreen MGR classic Nadodi Mannan at 6 pm.
