It’s become a regular feature for Tamil films these days to change titles. The reason could be anything. In some cases, someone would have objected to it as being offensive. But most often, it’s the inclusion of English words or characters that is the problem. To benefit from the ruling that only Tamil movies with titles fully and completely in Tamil will be get 100% exemption from entertainment tax, a whole host of names of movies with English in the titles had their titles changed. The latest to join this league is debutant director Ram’s much-expected Tamil M.A. The movie has now been given the new name Katradhu Thamizh.
