After enthralling fans with his matured performances in Periyar and Onbathu Roobai Nottu, Satyaraj is back to commercial cinema with Thangam. Thangam is produced by G. Kichcha and M. Shahul Hameed for Sri Movie Makers. The film is written and directed by Kichcha.
Newcomer Megha Nair plays the female lead opposite Satyaraj. After a long hiatus, one can get to see popular comedian Goundamani playing the hero’s sidekick in this movie. The Satyaraj-Goundamani combination is a hit pair in Tamil cinema.
The story set in the village milieu revolves around relationships and conflicts. Satyaraj is a do-gooder in the village who showers his love on his only sister. Satyaraj who is a bachelor falls for a girl. The problems that arise due to this forms the rest of the story.
Srikanth Deva is the composer for the film. As is the trend today, he has remixed the yesteryear MGR song 'Poomazhai Thoovi Vasanthangal Vaazhtha' for this film.
