Namitha had been working with actor Srikanth in song sequences directed by Rajeswar in Lankavi Islands. On their way to the island, they came across a tourist spot called Geo Park which houses many species of snakes and birds and became fascinated by its beauty. But seeing visitors posing with the animals, especially with a black python, really caught their attention.
Suddenly, an idea flitted across director Rajeswar’s mind – how about making Namitha pose with the python around her neck and use these scenes in a song of the movie. The director hesitantly put forth the idea to Namitha, thinking that it would be rejected in all probability. But he was in for a surprise when Namitha agreed to the idea, thinking it would be wild and exciting. She held the reptile and posed for the camera elegantly. Now these shots, according to director Rajeswar, will be used for the lead song of the movie.
Namitha says that initially, it was frightening and gross because of the slimy feel of the snake, but once she realized how friendly the snake was, she got over her queasiness. She even struck up a friendship with this snake and played with it. She even named it “Black Pearl”. What a bold girl and what a lucky snake! Pity one cannot be disguised as a python to be wrapped around Namitha's beautiful neck!
