The audio release of Thenavettu yesterday at 9.00 p.m. at Sathyam Theatre complex was a grand event. Galatta was present at the event. Here is an exclusive report about the great event.
First, Kavignar Karunanidhi, MC for the programme, welcomed all the guests in chaste Tamil. Every guest was stunned and happy at his amazing language skills which set the perfect mood for the function. Then, the first audio CD was released by the head of the Tamil Nadu Film Producers’ Association, Mr. Ramanarayan. This CD was received by an array of youthful artists like actor Jiiva, Jayam Ravi, Jitthan Ramesh, Na. Muthukumar, Subramaniam Siva, and Jeeva of Kakka Kakka fame. Guests included eminent director Seeman, music composer Srikanth Deva, director Perarasu, and many more.
When Jayam Ravi spoke at the function, he first lauded Kavignar Karunanidhi’s Tamil. He also revealed thay they are close friends. He also disclosed that Jeeva and he are contemplating acting together in a double-hero subject. He expressed how happy he was to receive the first copy of this movie's audio.
When actor Jiiva spoke, he had everyone burst into fits of laughter. His narration about a fire accident that took place during the film's shooting, and his reaction to it in a very funny manner, had the audience in splits. Then on a serious note, he said that this movie is about transgenders (who are always a subject of ridicule) and the subject has been dealt with in a very respectable manner. He thanked every unit member of this movie. Finally, he was all praise for Kavignar Karunanidhi.
Everyone shared their experience and made it a point to appreciate Kavignar Karunanidhi for his quick-wittedness and his erudition. It showed film fraternity’s interest in literature and penchant for identifying talent.
The film has all the elements of a Jiiva film and is a mass entertainer.
