Veteran actor Manorama was recently felicitated on having completed 50 years in cinema. Fondly referred to as 'Aachi', the entire Tamil film industry was present for the function which was held in the presence of Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi at the Chennai Trade Centre.
'Aachi', who has acted in more than 1500 films, was presented with a gold chain by Prabhu and a memento studded with 50 gold coins by Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan.
Some of the celebrities present for the function were K.V. Balachander, Ramnarayan, S.A. Chandrashekar, L. Suresh, P. Vasu, Deva, Sathyaraj, Sreepriya, Khusbu, Parthiban, Y.G. Mahendra, Vivek, Meena and Mumtaj. Priyamani, Namitha, Tejashri and Sangeetha gave dance performances during the function.
