The success meet of Vallabha, directed by Simbu and produced by Bellamkonda Suresh under the banner of Essar Entertainments with Simbu and Nayanatara in the lead roles was held at the unit's office recently.
Dialogue writer Shashank Vennelakanti said, 'Simbu is an all-rounder. He had showed his calibre not only as an artiste, but also as a story writer, lyricist, singer and director. The reason behind the success of Vallabha is nothing but Simbu's talent. I can find a Rajinikant and a Kamal Haasan in him. That is why the film attracted the youth in particular. Manmadha is my first film and Vallabha is my second venture. I don't say we worked hard for this film; instead say we showed interested to work in this film.
' Chandrabose says, 'I penned certain lyrics like that of a straight film rather than a dubbed film.' Vennelakanti says, 'My son had not only written dialogues for the film, but also gave dubbing to Simbu. He was able to extract good songs for the film.' One of the producers, Ramesh, says, 'Simbu played a role with different shades in this film by which his performance is highlighted; this is one of the first reasons for the success of the film. His performance is quite natural.'
Producer Bellamkonda Suresh says, 'There are several reasons for the success of this film, which include Simbu's performance, his talent in direction, Nayanatara's glamorous role, performance by Rima Sen and Sandhya. At the same time, music had added flavour to it. Now not only the youth but the family audiences are also watching the film with equal interest.' Responding to the agitation on the wall posters, he says, 'This is a business worth crores of rupees. We okayed those posters only to attract the audiences to the theatre. But when some people raised objections, we immediately removed all of them. We apologise in case we hurt the sentiment of any section. Not only the film publicity posters, women's associations should also wage a war against the obscene hoardings of various FM radio channels and other companies.'
