Vasantha Balan, who is directing Angadi Theru and who worked magic with Veyyil, will direct an English film shortly. This film, to be produced by Sandeep Singh, who produced Bandit Queen, has been named Rough India.
The fame of Vasantha Balan (Veyyil was screened at Cannes, Vasantha Balan received South Indian Filmfare award in the best director category, and Veyyil was elected as the best regional film at 54th National Film Awards) reached the makers of Bandit Queen and they decided that he is the perfect candidate for their upcoming venture, Rough India.
Speaking on this, Vasantha Balan confirmed that he has been approached by the makers of Bandit Queen for their upcoming project Rough India and that he is very happy about this. His focus now is on Angadi Theru and once its filming is complete, he will start working on his English project, he said.
