The music launch of Vellitherai held yesterday, was a differently organised occasion. The venue was like a tour through the history of Tamil cinema.
Veteran composers Viswanthan-Ramamurthy and V.B. Srinivas were felicitated on the occasion. The music was released by Malayalam actor Mohanlal, in the presence of these veterans.
Tributes were paid to the musical duo through a audio-visual presentation, which was followed by little children singing their compositions and the celebrities present talking about the contribution of veteran composers.
Those present included S.P. Balasubramanium along with his son Charan, Mani Ratnam and Suhasini, Shankar, Editor Mohan, brothers Raja and Ravi, Bhagyaraj and son Shanthnoo, Arjun, Balu Mahendra, Vidhyasagar, Vairamuthu, Na. Muthukumar, Jeevaa, Karthi and the movie's cast and crew.
The evening also marked the launch of Duet Music. Dhananjayan from Moser Baer and Munish Puri from Mirchi Movies also spoke on the occasion.
The evening was compered by Swarnamalya.
Vellitherai is produced by Moser Baer, Duet movies and Mirchi movies. Directed by Viji, the cast includes Prakash Raj, Prithviraj, Gopika and Lakshmi Rai. The music is composed by G.V. Prakash Kumar.
