It is not often that we come across actors and actresses portraying themselves on screen. One such appearance that comes to our mind immediately is Rajnikanth playing himself in Anbulla Rajnikanth. A more recent example would be Simran’s guest appearance in Bala’s Pithamagan where she played herself and danced into our hearts.
Now, we hear that Lakshmi Rai is playing herself in the hugely-anticipated Vellitherai. The movie stars Prithviraj, Prakash Raj and Gopika in the lead roles. The film is a remake of the Malayalam blockbuster Udhayanaanu Thaaram.
Lakshmi Rai, who hopes Vellitherai will be her big break, plays the role that Bhavana played in the Malayalam version. As an established actress who is also a good person, she is the one who helps the hero Prithviraj. A key character in the film, she is the one who puts all the other characters together into place in an invigorating climax.
