Another youth flick with sports at its fulcrum gets going. This time, the sport in question is kabaddi.
The pooja for Vennila Kabadikuzhu was attended by quite a number of cine stars. The lighting of the lamp was by Susindhran’s mother, producer K. Anandh Chakravarthy’s mother and music director Selvaganesh’s mother.
Presiding over the event were director K.S. Ravikumar, Ramanarayan and Producers' Council President. While Ramanarayan turned on camera, K.S. Ravikumar wielded the clap board and the movie’s hero Vishnu acted the first scene. Another guest of honour at the event was drummer Sivamani, who revealed that he would work along with his good friend, music director Selvaganesh, for one song.
Starring a host of young fresh faces, Vennila Kabadikuzhu is directed by Susindhran and produced by Imagine Creations. Though most parts of the movie will be shot at Pazhani, the kabaddi sequences will be filmed in Chennai.
