Actress Flora, who acted along with Vijaykanth in Gajendra, was arrested today on charges of trying to smuggle her friend to the US with false visa documents.
Flora is a small-time actress in Tamil who has done films like Gajendra, Kusthi (with Karthik and Prabhu) and Sorry, Enaku Kalyanam Aayiduchu. The actress is a hot shot item girl in Tollywood, where she is known as Asha Saini. The actress, who resides in Mumbai, flies down to Hyderabad for her shoots.
Many Telugu producers are said to be close to the actress. It is learnt that many a producer has taken the actress as an escort on their jaunts abroad.
Recently, a leading Telugu producer who had gone to the US is said to have asked Flora to meet him with her friend at the US to discuss about his next film. Venkat Reddy, a travel agent in Hyderabad was in charge of the visa arrangements. He had recently submitted the documents for the visas at the US Consulate in Chennai for Flora and her friend Srilatha.
He had declared in the documents that Srilatha was Flora’s make-up assistant and they were going for the shoot of a Telugu film in the US. However, the consulate authorities, on cross-checking the documents, found the documents to be forged and notified the police. They have handed over Flora, Srilatha and Venkat Reddy to the Royapettah police.
Flora’s frequent “discussions” with producers came to light on interrogation. Now, the police are making enquiries on whether Flora has smuggled any more women to foreign countries.
