Vijaykanth is one actor who has managed to carve a niche for himself in Kollywood. The actor is perhaps the only big star in Kollywood who has not acted in films from other languages. Despite this, he has a fan following that other actors are sure to be envious of.
The main reason for the ever-burgeoning fan base of the Captain is due to his simplicity, say sources closes to him. Recently, at the audio launch of his forthcoming film Arasangam, director Madesh narrated an incident that threw light on Captain’s commitment.
In the film, Vijaykanth plays a police officer who goes to Canada to investigate a case. For this, the entire unit had gone to shoot in Canada. During the course of shooting, Vijaykanth fell ill and needed medical attention. The producer and the director had advised the Captain to return to India for treatment.
However, the actor refused, saying that he would not like to add to the financial burden of the producer. He even asked the director to go ahead with the shoot and offered his fullest cooperation. Truly, a laudable gesture from the Captain.
