Now that Kuselan, Rajinikanth’s quickie before his Robot, is all set to take off, rumour mills have started working overtime. Every day, one gets to see some news that seems too incredible to believe.
The latest buzz on the grapevine is that director P. Vasu plans to include a song that will have some of Tamil cinema’s biggest stars sharing screen space together for the first time ever. Well, if this idea seems familiar, don’t go farther than Om Shanti Om. OSO, Bollywood’s Diwali dhamaka last year, was in the news for quite a long time for its song sequence where 31 major stars from the Bollywood film industry came together to shake their legs.
The lead up to the song involved a scene where Shah Rukh Khan, who plays a superstar in the film, throws a party after winning an award. Since Kuselan is also about a superstar, Vasu is apparently eager to include a similar sequence in the film.
While a host of tops stars sharing screen space is a regular thing in Bollywood, it is almost non-existent in Kollywood. But Vasu, who has good rapport with all the stars, hopes to do the impossible with the help of Rajinikanth, who is respected by everyone in the industry.
Kollywood’s biggest heroes, including Kamal Haasan, Ajith, Vijay and Vikram are being approached for this song along with leading ladies like Trisha, Nayantara and Namitha, say sources.
Since the film is also being made in Telugu, Tollywood’s top stars like Chiranjeevi, Nagarjuna, Mahesh Babu, Ileana and Allu Arjun will be approached for the Telugu version, add sources.
While the news sounds too good to be true, insiders in the industry say that it would be wise to wait for an official confirmation. As for fans, it would be a real treat if it turns out to be true.
