The audio of veteran director Bharatiraja's much talked-about Bommalattam was launched today. K. Balachander released the audio CD of the movie and Kamal Haasan received the first copy.
The highlight of the event was the presence of veteran music director Ilaiyaraja. Speaking on the occasion, he said," I never attend any functions. I am always with my musical instruments. But when Bharathiraja called me, I couldn't refuse. He is the one who brought me to Chennai. We have a very long association and he is a very dear friend."
In today's world, when it is common to see ego clashes, it was heartening to see a music director of Ilaiyaraja's stature present for the music release of a new music director. This shows the humility and greatness of the man.
Kamal Haasan was full of praise for the film. He said that a film like this has never been made, and that it will be a landmark film. A trailer of the film was shown during the launch, and it was very impressive.
Bharatiraja, who has directed movies like Karuthamma and Mudhal Mariyadhai, is directing Bommalattam simultaneously in Hindi and Tamil. Bommalattam is a cinema about cinema.
The cast includes Nana Patekar and Arjun. The female leads are Rukmini Vijaykumar and Kajal Agarwal. Bommalattam introduces Himesh Reshammiya as a music director in Tamil.
