When you see him in his recent hit Oram Po, you almost consider him as a typically trained auto driver who frequently takes part in auto races. Such is Arya’s natural touch to any kind of role he does on the big screen. Those warm brown eyes and the friendly smile can turn into a fitting attribute to go along with the diversity of characters he does.
Arya, an engineering graduate, strayed into an engineering job before he found his way into films. After a brief modelling stint, he signed up for Jeeva’s Ullam Ketkume. But it was Arindhum Ariyamalum under Vishnu Vardhan’s direction that was his on screen debut. Though the role had grey shades it was widely appreciated. It fetched him the Best Debut Award South and Best New Male Face Award at the Filmfare Awards. In Pattiyal in which he co-starred with Bharath, he packed in a lot of intensity in every frame.
Post the success of Oram Po, Arya is looking forward to Naan Kadavul, with the ace director Bala. His long hair look and the time taken (over an year!) to chisel the film have raised huge expectations in the industry.
When quizzed about his dream role, Arya says he would love to play a role like Superman or Charlie Chaplin!. Looks like this young actor has some interesting dreams.
Galatta.com wishes him very happy birthday and success and hopes that he gets to play a Charlie Chaplin-like Superman soon!
