There are favorable FDI policies for all segments of the Media and Entertainment industry creating business opportunities for many within and outside the country. Industry analysts predict that the revenues of the Media and Entertainment industry would double in the next 5 years while the revenues of the film industry would touch Rs 137 billion by 2010. In 2006, 1090 movies were made and 3.1 billion tickets sold. The film entertainment industry is also poised to capture a significant share of the global market with 24 million strong diaspora.

The Indo-American Chamber of Commerce, The Madras Film Society along with Ernst & Young as knowledge partners are organizing a seminar titled "Indian Cinema - Winds of Change" on July 14th, 2007 from 9:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Hotel Park Sheraton, Chennai.
