Periyar, the movie about the great leader, has crossed 100 days in nearly 20 theatres. The 100th day celebration was held at the Kalaivanar Arangam. Chief Minister Dr. M. Karunanidhi presided over the function.
Sathyaraj, who played the title role, was presented with a ring similar to the one worn by the great reformer. Speaking on the occasion, the actor said that it would not have been possible for him to do the role without the CM's help. He helped him understand the mannerisms of Periyar and even enacted it for him.
Khushbu said this was one of her most difficult roles. Manorama, who played Periyar's mother in the film, said that she had done so many films, but this role gave her the utmost satisfaction.
Actor Sivakumar was also present at the occasion.
