Shankar teams up with Balaji Sakthivel for Kalloori, their next film after Kaadhal. Produced under Shankar's own banner, 'S' Pictures, the movie is hitting the screens on Friday, December 7. But not everyone is happy with the date!
Many people from the industry want the release date to be 8th. The reason being '8' is Shankar's lucky number. And they have statistics to prove it! Anniyan released on June 17 (1 + 7 = 8), Kaadhal December 8, Imsai Arasan 23am Pulikesi on June 26 (2 + 6 = 8) and Veyyil on December 8. All these films went on to become big hits.
However, Shankar wants to break this superstition associated with him and his films. Sivaji had nothing to do with the number 8, and the film has created cinematic history.
You are right, Shankar sir, numbers and dates don't matter. The only thing that assures the success of a film is a great script and good performances. And if Lady Luck smiles as well, it adds to the sweetness of success!
