Actress and Bharatnatyam dancer Shobana is producing and acting in a dance theatre Maya Ravan. The dance drama is in English and will be staged at Music Academy on June 30th at 6:30 pm.
The show is in aid of The Society for Development, Research and Training (SFDRT) . This organisation is mainly involved with the children of sex workers, HIV and AIDS affected children. The money raised from this show will be used for improving and training sex workers' kids, including minor girls.
The event is being put together by GE Volunteers foundation and Paripurneeta, and event management company.
Talking about the foundation Mr. Ravi Varanasi, Senior Council Chennai Chapter said that the GE Volunteers foundation made up of GE employess and retirees work towards improving the communities they live and work. They invest thier time, talent, knowledge, talent and money to improve the lives of the underpriviledged in the society and prode themselves on bringing sensitivity and speed of response to the nees or crisis.
The actress has urged people to take up the issues of HIV and AIDS seroiusly for the benefit of mankind.
