The premiere of Sivaji The Boss was not like a premiere at all, considering the number of screens it was being played at in the city of Chennai and the crowds of screaming fans hoping for a glimpse of their Superstar or at least, a pass to the premiere somehow!
Sathyam Cinemas had it the grandest – Screen Sathyam was the most prestigious place to be last night, as stars and non-stars alike flocked to their seats to catch the Rajni mega-movie, from the first whistle to the last credits.
Latha Rajnikanth had reportedly bought out the entire chunk of Screen Sathyam tickets and AVM and the Sathyam management had a tough time juggling this request and seating OTHER stars form the industry who were invited for the premiere.
But all’s well that ends well. The night saw the likes of Mr. M. Saravanan, Madhavan, Trisha, Sridevi and Boney Kapoor, Suman, Latha Rajinikanth with daughters Aishwarya and Soundarya, Vivek, Arya and of course, the lovely leading lady of Sivaji The Boss – Shriya, dressed in a white ruched dress. There were others too, like directors Lingusamy and Dharani, Shiva (Chennai 28, Radio Mirchi RJ), Meenakshi (Karuppusamy…) and many more.
Abirami MegaMall, Albert & INOX were the other theatres the movie was premiered at.
Sathyam Cinemas’ management was running helter-skelter to get everyone seated and comfortable on time. Meanwhile all other theatres were also jam-packed with people waiting to see what their Superstar looked like at the hands of director Shankar, as were screens in other cineplexes.
